WELCOME

WHO ARE THE WELSH WOOL ALLIANCE?

We are an open and welcoming wool community membership, who welcome all those interested in the Wool Industry. We are focussed on Wool in Wales but also work with and align with people throughout the wool sector.

The Welsh Wool Alliance is a non-profit membership, who rely on support from our events, patrons and members. We offer different levels of membership and options to become a paid supporter, which accesses additional benefits.

It was co-founded in Summer 2022 by the founders of Wool Wales, and we lead the female heavy board of 12 wool experts & pioneers, who are invested in change. In a few short months the WWA has achieved incredible success and impact, including visiting Downing Street exploring export opportunities, hosting events and meeting regularly at the Senedd, putting the wool agenda at the heart of Welsh Politics.

We host the membership and member resources for the WWA, working in partnership to deliver the best research and projects to action change. Their membership helps mould the path and priorities for the Wool Wales Action Plan.

We also have PATRON levels for those who wish to “pay forward” and support our work. In return we offer extra “REWARDS” in the form of products and opportunities.

We organise great wool events .. Including the inaugral WOOL EISTEDDFOD for Wool Month in October, held at the iconic Pierhead at the heart of the Senedd in Cardiff Bay.

We also represent our community as part of the CPG (cross party group) alongside Members of the Senedd, meeting 5 times a year working to deliver a 3 year plan.

We are non-partisan and work throughout the Senedd and Westminster, gaining support from Members and Ministers for the industry. Putting wool at the heart of Welsh Politics.

WORKING FOR COMMON GOALS THROUGH COLLABORATION

We also represent our stakeholders by aligning our purpose with specialist leaders (WWA Ambassadors) who drive change and share resources for their area of expertise. This has meant we have been able to align the passion and achieve momentum and success in a short space of time, whilst remaining focussed on the Alliances key goals of community and collaborative change.

We are driving further goals through micro projects, which have been scoped and mapped within the WOOL WALES ACTION PLAN. This showcases successes, current research and forward recommendations for success.
